Sports hall De Gouwehal

For the renovation of sports hall De Gouwehal in Waddinxveen, we delivered the complete steel structure. The project was part of a circular and sustainable construction concept in which reuse, energy efficiency and long term durability were key.

The existing hall no longer met current standards and therefore underwent a thorough transformation. Together with the involved partners, a structure was chosen that reused as much existing steel as possible. The profiles were carefully selected, inspected and adapted for reuse. In addition, a bio based primer was applied as an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional coatings.

The engineering was carried out entirely in BIM, which ensured full digital coordination between all disciplines, from steel construction to installations. This enabled error free execution and efficient planning on site.

The result is a modern and energy efficient sports hall in which old steel received a new life. A project that demonstrates how innovation and craftsmanship contribute to sustainable construction in the Netherlands.
